LIFETIME ROYALTY CHEAT SHEET

How Can I Obtain Lifetime Royalty For My Horse?

There are 4 ways to keep your horse eligible for life:

1. Breed to a stallion the year they are paid in. If a mare is bred to a stallion a year they have paid in, that offspring (born following year) is eligible for life.

2. Run your horse in the futurity or derby.

3. Buy a horse through the Royal Crown horse sale.

4. Pay the lifetime Royalty fee.

5. All Charter Stallions offspring are eligible for life.

How Do I Tell If My Horse Or A Horse I'm Looking At Has Lifetime Eligibility?

Please check the Dropped Stallions list under the Stallions tab. Each Stallion will have their eligibility broken down there. We will also provide a chart at the bottom of this page noting which horses have either paid Lifetime Royalty, ran in the Futurity/Derby, or were purchased through the sale.

How Much Does Lifetime Royalty Cost?

Weanlings: $500

Yearlings: $750

Two Year Olds: $1,000

Three Year Olds: $1,250

Four - Eight Year Olds: $1,500

Nine Years & Older: $500

All payments brought in are used as 100% Payback Added Money for future events!

Do I Have To Pay Lifetime Royalty?

NO. The Lifetime Royalty fee is simply an option. You DO NOT have to pay this fee. We chose to offer this option for people to guarantee they will be able to run at our events if a stallion pulls out. If a stallion is paid into the program all horses are eligible to compete.

Can I Still Buy Lifetime Royalty if My Horse's Sire Dropped?

Yes. If your horses' sire dropped in 2024, you have until July 15th of the following year (in this case July 15, 2025) to pay at the scaled rate listed above. After July 15th, 2025 the rate will permanently be $2,500.

What Happens If A Barrels & Roping Stallion Switched to Roping Only?

If you bred to these studs while they were paid in to the barrels, they are eligible for life for both the barrels and roping. If your offspring is not in that year, wasn't competed on in the futurity or derby while eligible, then  you can pay them in so they are eligible for life for the barrels if you choose!

Stallions this applies to so far: Traffic Guy, Starlights Gypsy, Dualin Stargun, Fletch That Cat, Vegas Resort, Badgers Rodeo Red, or Starlights Smartchic

Do I Need To Worry About My Specific Stallion Dropping?

Many senior stallions have been chosen by a junior stallion and as their offspring come of competing age, the senior stallions' foals will no longer be eligible. This gives those senior stallions offspring the chance to secure their eligibility to compete at the Royal Crown events. This also goes for junior stallions in the program. There are several junior stallions who want to ensure their foals will be eligible to compete if they do not own a spot for their stallion to be in as their foals come of competing age.
